UPDATE: Harrisonville man arrested after fleeing police in Bates County

The Bates County Sheriffs Office arrested 37 year old Michael R. Strup of Harrisonville, Missouri last night after a police chase.

The chase started shortly after 10:00pm last night when a Butler Police Officer was out patrolling and attempted to do a traffic stop on a vehicle around the area of Orange Street in Butler.

The vehicle failed to yield for officers and it continued Northbound on Business 49 past Passaic and Adrian on the outer road of I-49.

Butler officers terminated the pursuit North of Adrian and Bates County Sheriffs Deputies took over and continued to pursue the vehicle.

Mr. Strup fled from the vehicle on foot around the area County Road 16502 which is just South of Archie and the last east/west road before Cass County.

After a short manhunt he was taken into custody and transported to the Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment of a dog bite.

Michael R. Strup has 4 warrants out of the Butler Police Department for failure to appear.
