Around 4:55pm yesterday afternoon The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Drexel Fire and Bates County and Miami County EMS all responded to 1 vehicle accident on State Line Road just North of West 399th Street. The accident occured when the 2005 Dodge Stratus driven by Elizabeth A. Edwards 16 years old of Harrisonville, Missouri was Eastbound on West 399th Street in Miami County Kansas. The driver attempeted to travel around a curve where 399th Street becomes State Line Road in Bates County Missouri traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle came to rest on the right side of the roadway facing North. Edwards and a passenger 15 year old Nicole Crawford of Harrisonville was bother injuried and transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center by ambulance. The vehicle recieved moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Adrian Tow.
