On11/12/13atapproximately8pmtheBatesCountySheriff’sOfficereceivedarequestforassistancefromtheButlerPoliceDepartmentinreferencetoavehiclepursuit. Thevehiclewasdescribedasamid-2000blueDodgetruck. Thetruckhadthreeoccupantsduringthepursuit.ThevehiclepursuitstartedatHighStreetandFt.ScottStreetandlefttownonNursery. ThepursuitcontinuedsouthonYYHighwayuntilitturnedtogravel. WhilerespondingtothepursuitonYYHighwayoneoftheBatesCountypatrolvehiclestoppedahillonYYHighwayovercorrectedandlefttheroadway. Thepatrolvehicleoverturnedmultipletimesandcametorestinafencerow.
TheDeputywastransportedbyambulancetotheBatesCountyMemorialHospitalwhereheremainsforhisinjuries.
