Bears 1st out of 10

Last night Butler hosted its 2nd consecutive Butler Invitational Track Meet. It turned out to be a beautiful day and everyone seemed to take advantage of it. I first off want to THANK everyone that was involved in helping put this on. I had several coaches comment that it was a very cleanly ran track meet for being anyone's first of the year. Big big kuddos to you all. I am very grateful for your support and help.

In our competition last night we ran against 10 schools and your Butler Boys came in 1st place overall! We hope to continue this success onto the next meet. At the meet they scored the top 8 finishers in each event. Here are your top 8 finishers in their events:

Shot Put – Ben Holt – 4th place; Zeph Smith – 5th place
Discus – Zeph Smith – 5th place
Long Jump – Seth Stump – 7th place
Triple Jump – Dylan Morris – 6th place
Pole Vault – Ethan Gardner – 1st place with a vault of 10; Brett Behringer – 6th place
4×800 relay – Tevin Taylor, Jesse Donoval, Aziah VanVoorst, Tayje VanVoorst – 5th place
4×200 relay – Devan Loveall, Dylan Morris, Tanner Diehl, Austin Castaneda – 1st place with a time of 1:36.97
110 Hurdles – Connor Sparks – 4th place; David Morse – 7th place
100 Dash – Keagan Miller – 4th place; Geoffrey Algiere – 6th place
800 Run – Tayje VanVoorst – 6th place; Aziah VanVoorst – 7th place
4×100 Relay – Geoffrey Algiere. Dylan Morris, Keagan Miller, Ethan Gardner – 3rd place
400 Run – Austin Castaneda – 1st place with a time of 52.62; Tanner Diehl – 3rd place
300 Hurdles – Devan Loveall – 1st place with a time of 43.72
200 Dash – Austin Castaneda – 2nd place; Tanner Diehl – 3rd place
3200 Run – Tayje VanVoorst – 5th place; Aziah Van Voorst – 6th plae
4×400 Relay – Devan Loveall, Ethan Gardner, Tanner Diehl, Austin Castaneda – 1st place with a time of 3:38.90

I am super proud of all of our athletes in their effort. Last night was actually the first track meet I have won since I have started here. I know this was a big goal of theirs to win as a team. Great group of kids we have. Give them a congratulations if you see them. Our next track meet is on Monday March 30th at Archie.
