March 26th, the Butler Bears hosted the 2nd annual Butler Invitational Track Meet. The weather was good and the meet went great! It is super fun and exciting, for the athletes and the coaches, to be able to be able to perform in front of our hometown crowd!
A super big THANK YOU to all of our helpers, workers, and volunteers! The track meet would not have run as smoothly as it did without your hard work and diligence yesterday!
Overall, the Lady Bears Track Team ended up walking away with a 1st place finish for the 2nd year in a row!!! All of the ladies truly stepped up to the plate yesterday and did what they needed to do, many of the girls on the team maxing out in 4 events.
The top 8 performers in each event earned points for their team.
Shot Put- Courtney Blevins- 5th place
Long Jump- Peyton McGuire- 4th place
Triple Jump- Amy Miller- 1st place with a jump of 32’8”; Riley Mareth- 6th place
High Jump- Amy Miller- 1st place with a jump of 4’10”; Peyton McGuire- 2nd place (also with a jump of 4’10”)
100 M Hurdles- Courtney Blevins- 5th place; Riley Mareth- 6th place
100 M Dash- Makenna Hannah- 4th place
4×200 M Relay- 1st place with a time of 1:54.47 – Makenna Hannah, Allie Chandler, Amy Miller, Mady Gepford
1600 M Run- Katie Murrell- 8th place
4×100 M Run- 2nd place – Courtney Blevins, Makenna Hannah, Riley Mareth, Allie Chandler
400 M Dash-Mady Gepford- 1st place with a time of 1:01.34; Allie Chandler- 5th place
300 M Hurdles- Riley Mareth- 3rd place; Katie Murrell- 5th place
800 M Run- Mady Gepford- 1st place with a time 2:32.88
4×400 M Relay- 1st place with a time of 4:36.89 – Allie Chandler, Makenna Hannah, Amy Miller, Mady Gepford
Monday, March 30th, the Butler Bears will travel up to Archie to compete in the Archie Invitational. Field events start at 4:00 pm and running events start at 5:15pm. Come out, enjoy the nice weather and watch your Butler Bears perform against some new competition.
