Obituary - John Andrade

John Andrade, age 79, of Kansas City, MO. Passed away on July 15, 2017 in Nevada Mo.

John was born August 15th. 1938, in Mitchell, NE but lived most of his life in Kansas City, Mo where he married the late, Ylaria Morales. Together they had five boys. John Jr., Martin, Barney, Paul, and Jesse. Later he added 2 beautiful daughters, Teresa and Myranda.

Survivors include wife Mary Collins Andrade; his seven children; 26 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank, Richard, and Mike; and 3 sisters, Carmen, Rosey, and Dottie. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Manuel, Jesse, and Tony Andrade.

Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine at 901 Avenida Cesar and Chavez in Kansas City, Mo.

Vehicle Fire This Morning In Butler


On Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 7:17 a.m. the Butler Fire Department was dispatched to 713 Hillcrest street for a reported vehicle fire. 

Units arrived on scene and found fire coming from the engine compartment. 

The fire was extinguished without further damage to other property. There were no injuries.

Obituary - Virginia Elizabeth (Brown) Wallace

Virginia Elizabeth (Brown) Wallace
Virginia Elizabeth (Brown) Wallace, beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on July 17, 2017, in Warrensburg, Missouri.   Virginia, or “Ginny,” as she was known to many, was born on March 1, 1933, to Henry Wallace Brown and Hazel Glenn (Moss) Brown, near Versailles, in Morgan County, Missouri.  She married the love of her life, Wayne Sherman Wallace, on June 17, 1956, in Clinton, Missouri, where they lived for over 50 years. They celebrated 61 years together last month. Virginia was preceded in death by both parents and a great-granddaughter, Stella Nimmer.

Virginia is survived by her loving husband, Wayne, of the home in Warrensburg; one brother, John Henry Brown and wife Margaret Ann of Leawood, Kansas; one sister-in-law Waneta Smith of Clinton; one daughter, Carole Nimmer and husband Don of Warrensburg; one son, Christopher Wallace and wife Debora Ann Vickers Wallace of Lee’s Summit; seven grandchildren, Timothy Nimmer and wife Tracy of Castle Rock, Colorado, Angela Noland and husband Erek of Kearney, Missouri, Natalie Nimmer of Honolulu, Hawaii, Michael and Elizabeth Nimmer of Warrensburg, Raleigh and Clara Wallace of Lee’s Summit; and four great-grandchildren, Luke and Grant Noland and Siena and Jackson Nimmer, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Virginia was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg, and had also belonged to the Allen Street Baptist and First Baptist churches of Clinton for many years. She enjoyed participating in Bible and book study groups, taught Sunday School and tutored young children.  She worked as a bookkeeper for many years starting at Clearfield Cheese Company and the family business, Dunning Furniture Store.  She held a real estate license, and most recently, worked as a tax preparer for H&R Block in Clinton. Virginia was a wonderful cook.  She loved to read and displayed her artistic talents sewing, painting and gardening.  Her grandkids were her pride and joy, and she was a constant supporter at their athletic, scholastic and musical activities.  Her true gift was constantly making lemons out of lemonade and being a friend to all who met her.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, July 21, at noon at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri, followed by a celebration of life service at 1:00PM, and burial in Englewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association, the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. Part time job in Butler

The Butler Police Department has a part time dispatch position with a guaranteed 12 hours a week. Must be willing to work evenings, nights, and holidays. 

Must be able to pass criminal background check and drug screen.

Margaret Dawson Tidwell 99 of Plattsburg, Missouri formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Monday, July 17, 2017 at Nick's Health Care, Plattsburg, Missouri.

A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 24, 2017 at Freeman Cemetery, Freeman, Missouri. Family will receive friends on Monday, July 24, 2017 from 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. at Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
