Bates/Cass County - Drivers can expect some minor delays when resurfacing of a 26 mile stretch of I-49 begins the week of June 16, the Missouri Department of Transportation said. Contractor crews will resurface both north- and south-bound lanes of I-49 between Cass County Routes A/B at Archie and Bates County Routes A/B at Rich Hill. Motorists can expect one lane at a time to be closed during the project resulting in limited delays. Work will be done primarily during daytime hours, but some night work is possible. Message boards and signs will alert drivers to the presence of work zones. The project is expected to be completed by November 2014. Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.
