Hot and humid conditions will dominate across much of the area today. Maximum heat index will climb into the upper 90s to lower 100s along and south of the Missouri River. Strong thunderstorms will develop later this evening as a strong cold front slowly moves south through the region. Some storms can become severe with damaging winds and large hail being the main threats. Heavy rain will be possible overnight and a flash flood watch is in effect for much of northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas.

Weather Update: Heat Today... Strong Storms/ Heavy Rain Tonight
Hot and humid conditions will dominate across much of the area today. Maximum heat index will climb into the upper 90s to lower 100s along and south of the Missouri River. Strong thunderstorms will develop later this evening as a strong cold front slowly moves south through the region.
