Larry was born May 27, 1943, to Richard and Maxine Murray in Nevada Missouri. He attended farrier school in 1969 at Bud Beaston Farrier School in Sperry, Oklahoma. He shoed in the Missouri area immediately following graduation until 1980 when he moved to Kansas and continued shoeing horses until his death. Larry enjoyed doing many things in his lifetime. His most memorable interest was blacksmithing. He was always out in his shop building something that most people couldn’t even think up. He was a very talented man. In the last few years he was a member of the Free State Blacksmith Club and attended many farrier conventions where he shared his joys and talents with fellow blacksmiths. He also attended car shows with his beloved car “Maxine”, which used to be his mothers car. He was so proud of that car, every time he got behind the wheel he had a smile that was contagious.
