Obituary - Waneta M. Schallert

The Funeral for Mrs. Schallert will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 10:00 a.m.

Officiant will be Father Thomas Hermes.


VISITATION/ROSARY will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, February 6, 2015. Visitation: 9:30 a.m. Rosary: 9:00 a.m.

INTERMENT will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Montrose, Missouri.

The family suggests that MEMORIAL contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Waneta Maxine (Foster) Schallert, daughter of John M. and Susie B. (Leeper) Foster was born March 8, 1928 in Appleton City, Missouri. She departed this life on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Ellett Memorial Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri at the age of 86.

Waneta lived in and around Appleton City and Montrose area all her life. She graduated from Appleton City High School in 1946.

Waneta started working at the Ted Conrad Agency as a bookkeeper, typist and receptionist. She left that employment in 1960. She was then employed by MFA starting out as bookkeeper and rising to manager.

Waneta and her husband, George W. Radford, whom she married in 1947, farmed in the Johnson City community from 1960 to 1967. She loved gardening, especially flowers and always took a special interest in caring for them. She also enjoyed sewing, painting and loved to read, especially westerns.

Waneta was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri. On May 22 1980, Waneta was united in marriage to Cletus A. “Clip” Schallert at that church. After her marriage to “Clip”, she became a homemaker.

Waneta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, “Clip”; brother, Dean Foster and his wife Joyce of Appleton City.

Waneta is survived by her two sons: Dennis G. Radford and wife Linda of Montrose, Missouri and Ronald W. Radford and wife Shauna of Nevada, Missouri; eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
