From the Butler Public Library

Born 110 years ago in Butler, Robert Heinlein later became known as the Dean of Science Fiction, amassing a following that is still strong today. 

The non-tax supported Butler Public Library was honored with funds for an addition that was completed in 1991, and continues to receive support annually in order to provide services and information to the community. 

Many Heinlein fans make treks from all parts of the country each year to visit the library and birthplace of their beloved author and mentor.
