Judge Revokes Bobby Bourne Jr. Probation
Bobby Bourne Jr. is being held on kidnapping and murder charges in murder of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton. A judge James R. Bickel in a hearing at Stockton, 28th circuit Court has revoked the probation of Bobby Bourne Jr. 34, of Lockwood Missouri. Bourne is being held on kidnapping and murder charges in murder of 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton. In April, a judge convicted Bourne to five years probation for the 2011 charge of second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer and three counts of domestic assault against his current wife In Cedar County. A judge issued a warrant for Bourne saying he violated his probation the same day he was charged with kidnapping Adriaunna. He was later charged with first-degree murder, forcible rape, statutory rape and kidnapping. Since he's been charged with a crime while on probation, that is now revoked. Now that his probation has been revoked, Bourne will likely spend 15 years for those crimes. The next set court date for Mr. Bourne is set for Sept. 9. |

Bates County Sheriff's Department Press Release Pursuit Last Night
On 8/29/13 at approximately 8:30pm the Bates County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the rural area north of E Hwy east of I49 in reference to a pickup truck in a bean field. Deputies arrived and made contact with the calling party. The calling party took the Deputy to the truck in the back of the field. As the Deputy approached the truck it took off through the field and back onto the road. The reporting party also identified a Cadillac that was in the area that had picked up several subjects from the field. Deputies were able to find the Cadillac and identified the driver of that vehicle.
The Deputies were able to identify the tag on the truck. The truck was reported stolen out of Johnson County Kansas. The Deputies detained the Cadillac driver and she helped identify the driver of the truck. She stated that she was told by the driver to follow her because he wanted to hide the truck before going to her house.
Additional Deputies were called in and flooded the area to find the truck. At approximately 10:00 pm dispatch received a call from a female in the area of Z Highway and 18 Highway in reference to another truck being stolen from a residence. The vehicle traveled approximately ½ mile east of Z Highway at approximately 95 miles per hour. As the vehicle topped a hill it began to swerve and left the roadway. The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned several times ejecting the driver into a field. The driver, identified as Kerry K Kennedy, was transported to Research Medical Center by helicopter. Big Travel Weekend on Missouri Roadways
Increased Traffic Expected on Roadways This Holiday Weekend
Motorists Advised to Drive Safely.
JEFFERSON CITY –Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest travel weekends of the year. Unfortunately, it can also be one of the deadliest.
“We want motorists to get where they are going safely and Arrive Alive,” said Leanna Depue, executive committee chair for the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety. “It’s important everyone do their part by obeying the laws of road, buckling up, and paying attention while driving.”
During the 2012 Labor Day holiday in Missouri, seven people died and 413 were injured in 1,086 traffic crashes. Of those fatalities, six were killed in automobiles, trucks, vans and motor homes (vehicles normally having safety restraint devices), and four of them were not using their safety belts.
The most common causes for traffic crashes during last year’s holiday weekend included inattention, failing to yield, improper lane usage, following too close and speeding.“Another huge concern during holiday travel is impaired driving,” Depue says. “Always drive sober or designate a sober driver.”
This year’s Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign began Aug. 16 and runs through the Labor Day holiday. Law enforcement will participate in statewide sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturations patrols to enforce Missouri’s DWI laws and keep impaired drivers off the road. The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety offers several tips for safe travel this holiday weekend:
· Buckle up – every trip, every time – safety belts save lives.
· Don’t drink and drive – impairment of any kind is dangerous. Designate a sober driver.
· Don’t speed – note the posted limits and adjust for weather and traffic conditions
· Pay attention and stay alert – dedicate your full attention to the roadway.
· Obey traffic rules and signs – they are there to help you.
· Plan your trip – determine your route before you leave.
· Get plenty of rest before your trip – change drivers if you feel tired.
· Be patient and courteous.
