Adrian, Bates County -
A partnership project between the city of Adrian and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) to build sidewalks along Route 18 in Adrian begins Monday, March 30.
The sidewalk project will take place along Route 18 between Old Route 71 and West Kentucky Avenue and between West Lexington Avenue and Mulberry Avenue, MoDOT said
The work will mean sidewalks will be closed at times in areas. However, the work should not cause impacts to drivers on Route 18 or other city streets.
MoDOT is supplying the materials to build the sidewalks and the city of Adrian will perform the work.
The work includes building sidewalks along with making the sidewalks compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Business entrances and approaches to city streets also will be rebuilt.
The project is set for completion by mid-September.
