(BUTLER, MO – July 22, 2015) - Bates County 4-H members Katie Campbell and Dylan Randalls were among the 60 campers, 16 counselors and six MU Extension faculty members who attended 4-H camp at Camp Windermere at the Lake of the Ozarks, July 13-16.

According to Alan J. Mundey, Bates County 4-H Youth Specialist, camp counselor training was held on Monday, July 13, and the campers arrived early on Tuesday morning, July 14, and were kept active until camp was dismissed on Thursday morning. Camp activities included the following: crafts, swimming, a cave tour, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, fishing, playing on water inflatables on the lake, campfires, Minute to Win It games, making extension cords supervised by employees from local electric cooperatives, and a variety of other activities.

Fortunately, sleeping and dining accommodations were air conditioned; so in spite of the searing heat, all campers seemed to have a great time and are looking forward to next year’s camp.
