Multiple vehicle accident on I-49 in Cass County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County EMS and the Cass County Sheriffs Office are responding to a multiple vehicle accident in the Northbound lanes of I-49 around Mile Marker 170 at this time.

The accident is around two miles South of North Cass Parkway in rural Cass County is said to involve six vehicle at this time.

Traffic is said to be backing up in this area at this time. Please use caution if you must travel in this area.

25 Year Mystery: Where is Cheryl Kenney?

NEVADA, Mo. -- 25 years ago Saturday, a woman from Nevada, Missouri vanished, leaving no clues behind.

Law enforcement says despite the length of time that has passed, closing this case is still a priority, and they need the public's help."She was a local, a native of Nevada. At the time, I believe she was living near Walker," said Sgt. Jeff Baker, Nevada Police Department.

Sergeant Jeff Baker says Cheryl Kenney was a mother of two, a wife and a honest, hard working person. That all changed the night of February 27th, 1991.

"Apparently, she closed the store about 10 o'clock that night, and was never seen again," said Sgt.Baker.

Sgt. Baker says over the years, thousands of hours have been spent on dozens, if not hundreds of interviews, all aimed at finding out what happened to Kenney.

Update: Fire rips through home West of Passaic Friday morning

On Friday, April 29 at approximately 9:29 A.M., the Butler and Adrian Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at Rt. F @ County Rd. 1801 west of Passaic.

On arrival of the first Butler unit, heavy fire was found in the south end of a single wide mobile home. The fire was determined at that time to be in the Adrian district.

The fire declared under control at 10:30 A.M., with the structure and contents sustaining heavy fire damage. The last units left the scene at 11:37 A.M.

The fire was difficult to control due to the fact that a second roof had been constructed over top of the original roof.

There were no injuries.

Fugitive McCoy arrested in Vernon County

Nevada police report they are continuing an investigation of a felony assault with a motor vehicle that occurred on Thursday, April 28 at about 5pm. Nevada Police Detectives became aware that a subject wanted for several felonies was hiding in the 800 block of E. Hickory.

As detectives and patrol officers approached the scene, the wanted man was observed walking towards a parked car occupied by a young female. Noticing the arriving police, the wanted subject fled on foot and the female driver in an attempt to flee accelerated at a high rate of speed and crashed her car into a marked patrol car approaching the scene.

The police officer was temporally trapped in the crashed patrol car and received an arm injury.

The female driver received a facial cut from the deployed air bag of the car she was fleeing in. The unlicensed female driver was identified as a 15 year reported runaway from Cedar County, missing for nearly three months.

The Juvenile’s name will not be released. She was treated and released from NRMC and turned over to the custody of Vernon County Juvenile authorities, charged with Assault. The police officer was also treated and released from the hospital.

The wanted male felon ran with police pursuing on foot. Police witnessed the subject crawl under a structure in the 600 block of Osage, where he was successfully taken into custody.
The arrested subject is a 24 year old Vernon County resident identified as:

McCoy was a fugitive on Felony warrants from three counties, including Assault, Burglary and Receiving Stolen Property.

Nevada Police Detectives had been actively looking for both subjects for several days.

In addition to the active warrants from three separate counties, the Vernon County Associate Circuit Court has issued the following additional charges on McCoy.

Assault of a Law Enforcement Officer, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Resisting Arrest. Total combined bond is $10,000 cash only.

Geraldine Maxine Thornhill, age 87 of Ballard, Missouri peacefully passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at her sons's home in Ballard. She was born December 21, 1928 to Layton Doss and Corda Eurie Johnson Smith in Bates County, Missouri.

Geraldine is survived by her son, Alva Thornhill and significant other Becki Smith of Butler, Missouri; one sister, Betty Creath of Overland Park, Kansas; one granddaughter, Amanda Baker and husband Jess of Garden City, Missouri; a great-granddaughter, Paisley Jo Baker.; and her beloved pet Inka. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Eugene; and two brothers, Bill and Rob Smith.

The funeral services for Neta will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton City, Missouri.

Officiating at the service will be Pastor David Herald. Visitation will be held at the church preceding the service from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

Interment will be in the Appleton City Cemetery. The family suggests any Memorial donations be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.

Neta Lucille Niemann, daughter of Jesse E. and Mary Dot (Burton) Duckworth, was born November 7, 1928 in Philomath, Oregon. She departed this life peacefully April 26, 2016 at the AC Manor Nursing Home in Appleton City, Missouri at 87 years of age.

While still an infant, Neta’s family moved to rural Collins, Missouri where her mother worked as a domestic to provide for her children. When Neta was twelve, they moved to Osceola where she graduated from Osceola High School. Her mother later married Jim Lackey. After school, Neta was employed by Missouri Public Service for a time.

After WWII was over, she spotted Bill Niemann playing town team basketball for Appleton City. She proudly tells that she set her sights on Bill, that “tall handsome man,” that very day. Later that evening she boldly invited him to sit with her and her friend in the booth at the café. She always said she didn’t think that shy Bill would have had the courage to introduce himself. They were married January 1, 1950 in the Lutheran parsonage in Appleton City. They were blessed with two sons. The Niemann’s made their home in Appleton City where Bill was a rural mail carrier. Neta worked for a few years as the Appleton City Treasurer. She was baptized October 1, 1942 and confirmed July 7, 1950, becoming a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Neta had a beautiful voice and often sang in church and at weddings. She was a Sunday school teacher and a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She and Bill loved gardening together; Neta particularly enjoyed her roses.

Neta was a truly kind, sweet, caring lady. She and Bill were always willing to offer a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and any kind of help to anyone in need. They were particularly good at ministering to those who had lost loved ones. Neta possessed a strong Christian faith and it showed in her generous and compassionate nature.

She and Bill spent many pleasurable hours together fishing at the Appleton City reservoir. Neta was a truly lovely lady inside and outside with a genuine smile to share with everyone. She will be missed greatly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Neta was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather; husband Bill; an infant son, Charles; and her sister and brother in law Peg and George Hampton. Survivors include her son Jim Niemann and his wife Lois; one grandson Will Niemann and Kristin Southerland; one granddaughter Katie Jobe and her husband Travis Jobe, and one great granddaughter Gracy Jobe.

Family needing help after house fire West of Passaic

A house fire, two mile west of Passaic, destroyed the home of the John Johnson family early Friday morning April 29th. This family of five needs our help. Donations are being accepted at The Bear Stop Gas Station and Convenience Store on Fort Scott Street in Butler.

Stephanie Purtle is a former employee of the Bear Stop and a member of the family. The family is in immediate need of clothing and personal hygiene products.

Woman life flighted after St. Clair County crash

On 4/28/16 around 6:15pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County responded to a one vehicle accident on Route C around 7 miles East of Lowry City in rural St. Clair County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1999 Chevrolet Suburban driven by 38 year old Kristina S. Seedyk of Lowry City, Missouri traveled off the roadway and struck a tree.

She sustained moderate injuries in this accident and was life flight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment.

The vehicle received minor damage in this accident and towed from the scene by Bray's Tow.

Osceola man injured in two vehicle accident

On 4/28/16 around 7:30 am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 13 Highway in the city limits of Osceola.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2003 Oldsmobile driven by 58 year old Brenda K Dosier of Collins, Missouri failed to yield at a stop sign and pulled into the path of the 1995 Ford Ranger driven by 26 year old Eura A. Stutzman of Osceola, Missouri .

Mr. Strutzman sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri by private vehicle.

Both vehicles were totaled in this accident and both were towed from the scene.

Cass County Elementary students bring knives onto school bus

An elementary student was reportedly threatened with a knife on a school bus Wednesday afternoon.

The bus was transporting students home from Creekmoor Elementary School in Raymore when the incident occurred.

The Raymore and Belton police departments are investigating the incident, which ended with two knives being confiscated by a bus driver.

According to Lt. Brad Swanson with the Belton Police Department, an older student pointed a kitchen knife at a 6-year-old student.

Rich Hill Police Dept. to Participate in the Click It or Ticket Enforcement

City of Rich Hill-Police Dept. will be joining with statewide law enforcement May 23-June 5 for an aggressive “Click It or Ticket” mobilization to crack down on Missouri’s seat belt violations.

Six out of 10 people killed in Missouri traffic crashes are unbuckled. And even with all the advancement in automobile safety and education on the importance of seat belt use, Missouri seat belt use has remained relatively unchanged in the last six years and consistently below the national average.

Missouri has a 79 percent seat belt use, which is well below the national average of 87 percent. Teens and pick-up truck drivers are among those least likely to buckle up at 67 and 63 percent.

“Every day someone dies in a crash in Missouri because they weren’t buckled up,” said Jack Bearce, Chief of Police. “We will be pulling out all the stops to ensure motorists are buckling up.”

Seat belt use is the single most effective way to protect people and reduce fatalities in motor vehicle crashes.

Karen Elizabeth Hunter, age 46 of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at her home in Butler.  She was born June 19, 1969 to Dorrance Allen and Jan S. Stegge Hunter in Independence, Missouri.

Karen is survived by her mother, Jan Price and husband Mike of Basehor, Kansas; her father, Dorrance Hunter and wife Lucy of Hendersonville, North Carolina; and three sons, Christopher Hunter of Basehor, Kansas, Thomas Garcia of Basehor, Kansas and Brian Tillery of Butler, Missouri.  Also surviving is her granddaughter Aileana Hunter; three brothers; Matthew, Justin and Adam Hunter and sister Tina Walker.

Ermon Earl Cubbage, 92, Nevada, MO passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Ermon was born February 8, 1924 in Los Animas, CO to Elmer W. and Purita Caley (Craft) Cubbage. He was united in marriage to Margaret E. Neely on June 28, 1942 and she preceded him in death on April 8, 2003.

Ermon, along with his family, came to Vernon County December 31, 1937 at the age of 13. He attended Walker School until the 8th grade when he became a full time farmer. Ermon farmed and raised livestock all of his life. He served on the Walker School Board for a number of years. Ermon was also a member and an elder of the First Christian Church in Nevada.

Survivors include one daughter, Bobbie J. Hamersley and her husband Eddie, Walker; one son, Donald Cubbage and his wife Vernille, Nevada; six grandchildren, Cindy Winters, Scott Hamersley, Tracy Hamersley, Sheila Bryson, Donis Duncan, Davola Garrett; ten great grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife Margaret, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Charley, and Emery, one sister, Maybel Norlin, and one granddaughter, Sherri Prewitt.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Bill Platt officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.

Traffic stop yields felony drug arrest in St. Clair County

On April 27, West Ford, 40, St. Ann, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with class B felony possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance and class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.

The charges stem from an investigation the previous day on Highway 13 southbound near CC Highway when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop Ford was a passenger in. During the investigation Ford was found to be in possession of heroin. He was taken into custody pending the formal charge. Members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force assisted with the investigation.

Death investigation complete in St. Clair County

Sheriff Scott Keeler said a death investigation in reference to two bodies found at a residence in Lowry City is complete. On April 21, St. Clair County deputies and the Lowry City Police Department responded to a residence at 202 East 7th Street, Lowry City, and located two bodies.

The body of Isaac Tyson, a two- month-old infant child, was located in the living room of the home. His father’s body, Curtis Paul Tyson, 43, was located in a detached garage of the home.

The father's death was determined to be caused by a self inflicted gunshot wound.

On April 22, an autopsy was conducted on the infant and the cause of death was determined to be from blunt force trauma. The sheriff said following a meeting with the Child Death Review Board on April 26, this case has been ruled a murder suicide and is considered closed.

Arrest warrant issued for Montrose woman

On April 25, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Katherine Mitchell, 49, Montrose, charging her with class C felony possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The charge stems from an incident on March 21 when St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office deputies and members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force were at a residence on North Beech Street, Appleton City, in reference to a drug investigation.

During the investigation Mitchell was found to be in possession of a substance that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Appleton City man arrested for felony attempted enticement of a child

On April 25, Adam Lesmeister, 33, Appleton City, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with attempted enticement of a child, an unclassified felony. Bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety.

The charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation concerning an incident in March 2015 when Lesmeister allegedly inappropriately touched a 13-year-old female.

Cindy Ulenee Harris-Morrison, age 42 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born March 9, 1974 to Richard Veston and Judy Ann Rocheleau Barnes in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Don Morrison of Butler, Missouri; one son, Brandon William Carter of Creighton, Missouri; one daughter, Myah Angel Fink of Drexel, Missouri; two brothers, Ryan Barnes and wife Angela of Kansas City, Missouri and Richard Barnes of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Melanie Gribble and husband William of Overland Park, Kansas, Wendi Baldwin and husband Josh of Mound City, Kansas and Alicia Billingsley and husband Dee of Big Spring, Texas; her mother, Judy Fullerton and husband Kenneth of Butler, Missouri; and her father, Richard Barnes and wife Wanda of Gladewater, Texas.

In 1972, an active shooter killed three on the Harrisonville square

Residents received a bleak newspaper on the morning of April 28, 1972.

The cover of that paper was largely devoted to the actions of a lone gunman one week prior, on April 21, 1972. The reverberations of his spree, which left three dead on the Harrisonville square, shook a community.

The gunman, Charles Simpson, was 25 at the time and armed with a single weapon — a 30-caliber M-1 carbine that was later recovered, along with 360 rounds of ammunition, according to the Democrat’s account.

Vehicle fire in Rich Hill

The Rich Hill Fire Department is currently responding to a vehicle fire at this time at 102 E. Walnut in Rich Hill.

The vehicle is said to be fully engulfed in flames at this time and the flames could spread to a residence close by.

Memorial services for Cindy Morrison will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. There is no visitation.

Cindy Ulenee Harris-Morrison, age 42 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born March 9, 1974 to Richard Veston and Judy Ann Rocheleau Barnes in Ft. Worth, Texas.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Don Morrison of Butler, Missouri; one son, Brandon William Carter of Creighton, Missouri; one daughter, Myah Angel Fink of Drexel, Missouri; two brothers, Ryan Barnes and wife Angela of Kansas City, Missouri and Richard Barnes of Arlington, Texas; three sisters, Melanie Gribble and husband William of Overland Park, Kansas, Wendi Baldwin and husband Josh of Mound City, Kansas and Alicia Billingsley and husband Dee of Big Spring, Texas; her mother, Judy Fullerton and husband Kenneth of Butler, Missouri; and her father, Richard Barnes and wife Wanda of Gladewater, Texas.

Obituary - Joanne Thomas Saathoff

Joanne Thomas Saathoff

Joanne Thomas Saathoff, 90, of Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Mercy Hospital-Joplin. She was born on December 28, 1925 in Nevada to Archie G. and Bessie (Sewell) Thomas. 

Joanne was baptized in the First Christian Church of Nevada in 1939 becoming a fourth generation member of the Church. She attended Bryan School and Sylvandale School. Joanne graduated from Nevada High School in 1943 where she played the French horn, was an enthusiastic majorette and was active in theatre. She went on to graduate from Cottey College in 1945 and worked at Farm and Home Savings and Loan, Jones Hardware and at the Nevada State Hospital. Joanne was married on November 8, 1945 to Richard Saathoff. Joanne and Richard were blessed with two loving children, Shelia Klumpp Saathoff and Steven Thomas Saathoff.

Joanne was devoted to her family and friends. She was a prolific storyteller who particularly loved passing down the history and tales of her ancestors. She contributed greatly to the recording of the Nevada and Vernon County history. From her senior year of high school to the end of her 90 years, she recorded it all. Her genealogy and historical research stretched back in history as far as 1599. Her research has been published and used by the Mormon Church database and countless others. She was an accomplished artist, poet and singer. She loved dancing to big band music at Radio Springs, breakfast at the 54 Café with her friends, meeting with her widows group, burgers and crisp Suzy Q’s from the grill and tomato aspic. She had an uncanny ability to spot a four leaf clover and most attributed her luck to the Irish lineage she was so proud of. She was most proud of her family, showing them off and introducing them to everyone she knew, which was pretty much everybody in town! No one was forgotten with Joanne; she attended to and visited the gravesides of all of her passed love ones and in between, reminisced about their history through her treasured keepsakes. Her home and heart were filled with her family and friends and though we will miss her, we know she will always be with us.

She leaves behind her baby sister Patty Koch and nephew, Reid Walters; her children, Shelia and Steve who will miss her dearly, grandchildren, Ethan and Elizabeth Klumpp, Mandi Ketter, Lacey Strawder and Joe Price and great-grandchildren, Malori, Aiden, Colin, Kendyl, Parker, Emerson, Fallyn and Jayden. She was preceded in death by her “mother and daddy”, Aunt and Uncle Elizabeth and Earl Jolly, her youngest brother Richard Koch and twin brothers, Bob and Gene Thomas.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Just to clear up any rumors

So, I've had a lot of people ask me recently if House of Hound is closed, the answer for anyone who is wondering is NO, we aren't going anywhere anytime soon! As long as we keep getting support and donations from YOU guys, the public, we are here to stay! I've heard so many rumors over the last month and the only one that was true was about the Parvo, we got that all taken care of, NONE of the dogs at the shelter right now have it, ALL dogs are safe!! We are NOT closing down!! What we are doing is expanding the outdoor play yard to allow for more dogs to play outside safely, thanks to all the volunteers that are donating their time for that.

We are also in the process of painting the floor , getting safer kennels and trying to get each dog a new Kurunda bed to sleep on, (we only need 4 more)! We are ALWAYS looking for volunteers, someone who is at least 18, responsible, self motivated and willing to work. We also need dog walkers, we are running on a very small crew right now and really need people.

If you have community service, you can do it with us, if you need volunteer hours for school/college, you can do it with us. We have lots of loving dogs that are looking for their forever home. The care, safety, well being and happiness of our dogs is our top concern!

We are open from 10-3 daily. Stop by and make a donation, adopt your new best friend, take a dog on a walk or just look around, we'd be happy to have you!

Dominick Andrews age 11 of Archie, Missouri departed this life Monday, April 25, 2016.

He is survived by his parents, Chad and Jamie Andrews, a brother, Christian Michael Andrews, two sisters, Mollie Grace Andrews, Lexie Denniece Andrews all of the home; paternal grandmother, Donna Andrews, Peculiar, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Jim and Molly Schieber, Archie, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Archie High School Gym, 302 W. State Route A, Archie, Missouri.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Arrangements are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Update: Mechanical problems cause semi truck fire in Walmart Parking lot

On Wednesday, April 27 at approximately 5:10 A.M., the Butler Fire Department responded to the parking lot of

Wal-Mart, 400 S. Fran, for a report of a tractor-trailer unit on fire.

On arrival, heavy fire involvement was found in the tractor portion of the unit, located on the northeast corner of the parking lot.. The driver was out of the vehicle on our arrival.

The fire was extinguished with heavy fire damage. The trailer was loaded with plastic products. There was no extension of the fire to the trailer.

The fire was under control at approximately 5:26 A.M., with the last unit leaving the scene at approximately 6:23 A.M..

Cause of the fire appears to have been from a mechanical problem. The driver in the sleeper and stated he heard a popping noise, which woke him up, and upon investigation found fire in the engine compartment.

There were no injuries.

Obituary - Evelyn Mae Johnson

Evelyn Mae Johnson, 84, Freeman, Missouri, died Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Freeman Cemetery.

City of Archie without power

The city of Archie, Mo has been without electrical power since around 10:45 last night, as storms apparently damaged an electrical sub station near Austin.

According to the KCPL web site, crews have been dispatched and repairs are anticipated today.

Ford recalls 202K pickups, SUVs, cars to fix transmissions

DETROIT (AP) - Ford is recalling nearly 202,000 pickup trucks, SUVs and cars in North America because the automatic transmissions can suddenly downshift to first gear.

The recall covers the 2011 and 2012 F-150 and the 2012 Expedition, Mustang and Lincoln Navigator. Ford says a speed sensor can force vehicles into a downshift.

The company says the problem has caused three crashes but no injuries.

Dealers will inspect the sensors. If they find no trouble codes, they'll update software. If trouble codes are present they'll replace parts.

The company also is recalling over 81,000 Explorer SUVs to fix a rear suspension problem that can cause loss of steering control. That recall covers SUVs from 2014 and 2015. Suspension links could fracture due to poor welds.

Dealers will replace the links.

Bates County Conservation Agent, Don Tiller Honored in Jeff City Missouri

Bates County Conservation Agent, Don Tiller, was honored in the Missouri House of Representatives, April 25, 2016. State Representative, Patricia Pike, introduced Agent Tiller on the House Floor and presented him with a House Resolution recognizing his selection as Missouri Department of Conservation’s 2016 Outstanding Missouri Conservation Agent.

On July 1, 2016, Don Tiller will celebrate twenty-nine years of being a Missouri Conservation Agent in Bates County. Representative Pike commented, "Agent Tiller has been a dedicated Agent through the years. He has been active in resource law enforcement, conservation preservation, and working with youth and fair programs, to name just a few of his activities. It was an honor to recognize him for this very special distinction."

Drug take back in Bates County

On Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Bates County Health Center in cooperation with Butler Police Department and the DEA will give the public an opportunity to dispose of their unused or expired medication for safe disposal.

The TakeBack location is at Bates County Health Center at 501 N. Orange in Butler using the back door on the NE corner of the building.

This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue that we are pleased to be a part of for our community.

Semi truck fire early this morning at Butler Walmart

Around 5:15 am this morning the Butler Fire Department was called to the North entrance of Walmart Parking lot in Butler on a semi truck fire.

No one was injured in this fire and the truck was fully engulfed when fire crews arrived on scene.

Several reports of power outages at this time in the city of Butler

The City of Butler Electric Crews are currently attempting to restore power to several customers without after the storm this evening.

The storm has affected both Butler Police Department and Bates County Sheriffs Office communications centers (which currently are both back up and running at this time) and the Bates County Memorial Hospital is currently running on back up generators.

Please be patient as crews are working hard to restore your power.
