St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Search warrant served and stolen items recovered

On Wednesday, April 16, a St. Clair County deputy assisted deputies from Cedar County, Vernon County and officers from the El Dorado Springs Police Department with serving a search warrant. The search warrant was in reference to a burglary that occurred in St. Clair County at Dains Fish Farm, on Highway H, Schell City, and multiple other crimes in various jurisdictions including Cedar and Vernon counties and the cities of Nevada and El Dorado Springs.  

The search warrant was served at the residence of Michael T. Phillips South Forrest Street, El Dorado Springs. Several items were recovered. Phillips was later arrested by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office on five felony charges of burglary in the second degree. Formal charges in St. Clair County are pending on Phillips and another individual.


On April 12, Robert Dains, Dains Fish Farm, reported ammunition, cash from register, several rolls of change, and a computer and monitor for the surveillance system was stolen from the store. Dains reported damage to the front and rear doors and estimated the total damage and loss at $5,240. Some of the items reported stolen were recovered during the search warrant.
