Rash of local burglaries reported

The Bates County Sheriff's Department has been busy investigating several reports of theft around the county this week. Two Honda 300 four wheelers were stolen in the Rich Hill area, both of which had windshields and one of them had a sprayer mounted on the front rack. Also four red 2 gallon gas cans were taken from the same location.

In Adrian, deputies took a report of a stolen CD case with approximately 800 CD's in it. No suspect information is available at this time.

Bates County Live was informed of a car break in during the football game at Miami High School Friday night. The car was locked and a purse was taken during the theft.

Deputies also took a report of a stolen guitar in the Amoret area this week and a report of stolen metal near Passaic.

Near Foster, a residence was broken into and items stolen included a TV, tower speakers, jewelry, antiques, clothing, DVD/VCR combo and a gas mask. Total of these items is approximately $560.

The Sheriff's Department reminds everyone to watch for suspicious activity and never leave items such as purses, MP3 players, cell phones, etc. in plain sight in your locked vehicle.
