Mundey completes required training for Missouri recorders

Bates County Recorder of Deeds Lucille Mundey has completed her required 20-hour training by attending the Recorders Association of Missouri’s 2011 conference held in St Louis the week of April 11.

This year there were 30+ newly elected recorders attending the training session.  A mentor program was set up to assist these new recorders in their orientation and learning process.  The mentors were to make the new members feel welcome and comfortable by inviting the new recorders to sit with them, provide support and information as needed, introduce them to friends and colleagues, get well-acquainted with each other and help them throughout the training process.  After the conference the mentors are to make themselves available to the new recorder throughout the year and give them counsel and advice whenever they need it.  Lucille was selected to be a mentor to the newly elected Henry County Recorder, Rhonda Ake.  Lucille was also selected to be on the Nominating Committee and helped present the new slate of officers for 2011-2012.

The sessions included information on sovereign citizens, legislative history and updates, round table discussions, and new procedures with the DNR.  A tour of a historical home in the Central West End was available and enjoyed by the recorders.

The technology workshop included up-to-date computer hardware, computer software, microfilm equipment, scanners and copiers.
