Funeral services for Earl Schapeler will be 1 p.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Happy Hill Church of God or Heartland Hospice.
Earl Marvin Schapeler, age 84 of Butler, Missouri died Thursday, November 24, 2011 at his home in rural Butler. He was born July 27, 1927 to Henry Joseph and Rosa Augusta Lee Schapeler in Prairie City, Missouri.
Earl is survived by his wife Areta Lucille Schapeler of Butler, Missouri; one son, Wayne Schapeler and wife Josephine of Butler, Missouri; one daughter, Janice Schapeler of Butler, Missouri; two granddaughters, Melinda Stahl and husband Heath of Olathe, Kansas and Melissa Mehlhaff and husband Dan of Edgerton, Kansas; five great-grandchildren, Emma, James and Kristen Stahl and Sadie and Samuel Mehlhaff. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Vernon Schapeler; one sister, Marie Higgins; and a niece, Rose Mary Higgins Fels.
