Police quickly determined that the youngsters had been searching the neighborhood for unlocked cars and upon locating them, stole small items that had been left unsecured in the vehicles. The three youngsters were interviewed by police in the company of Juvenile authorities and confessed to multiple thefts from cars after sneaking out of their homes. Police believe that this group is responsible for many thefts from unlocked vehicles during the recent summer months. Property such as jewelry, fishing equipment and other small personnel items were recovered by investigators.
The three youths were turned over to the Juvenile Officer for further disposition. Their names are not being released to the public.
