The Papinville Historical and Cemetery Association has their plans set for their 25th Annual Picnic. Saturday, September 24, 2016. Activities will begin at 1:00 p.m.
This year’s wagon tour will be taking you to the Drainage Ditch and giving you the history of when and how it was dug and other interesting facts. Tickets will be $4.00 with children under six $2.00. First tour will begin in the museum at 1:00 and the ride will leave promptly at 1:10. If there is enough interest a second ride may be scheduled. There will be regular wagon rides during the afternoon for $2.00 per person.
The wonderful music by the Heartfelt Band will begin about 1:30.
If you wish to enter the pie contest, do so in the kitchen before 3:00 p.m. Following awarding of prizes, the pies will be auctioned at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Other activities that will be announced during the afternoon to be enjoyed by adults and children will be: cake walk, silent auction, duck pond and children’s coloring contest and craft. Don Tiller, area conservation agent will be present with a display for all to enjoy. The Papinville School and Museum will be open for viewing and possible tours will be scheduled. You may purchase tickets for all these activities plus books and other items under the tent outside the museum. Tickets on the Queen size quilt will be available at the tent.
Buffet meal will be served at approximately 5:00. Silent auction will end and quilt will be given away at 6:00.
Should you wish to bring a dessert of any kind it would be appreciated. Let them know if you would like your cake to be used on the dessert table or at the cake walk and have it in a disposable pan or container.
If you would like to donated items for the silent auction, that also would be appreciated.
Now there is just one other thing to say, “Bring your lawn chair and come and enjoy music, activities, visiting with old and new friends, learn about history and above all a good meal. See you on the September 24th at the Annual Papinville Picnic.
