Orva Bryan Grosshart, Jr. |
Jr. worked 38 years at the General Motor’s Leeds Assembly Plant, retiring in 1992. He loved baseball, car racing, basketball, tractor pulling and his family. He played baseball, being invited to play in the minor leagues, refereed basketball for years and was the 1980 Missouri State Tractor Pulling Association’s point champion. Together with the “Rusty Zipper Club” he spent many hours solving the problems of the world at the coffee shop. He loved country music and could be found at the dance most Friday nights, listening to Jess and the band. He was willing to travel at the drop of a hat and that led to many family adventures. Jr. had a tender heart for animals and could never pass up a stray.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sandra Persinger. He is survived by Sonya, his five children, eight grandchildren, Jason, April, Luke, Cody, Katelynn, Jordan, Nathaniel and Jesse, and six great grandchildren, Dalton, Noah, Talin, Ava, Olivia and Caleb, his brother Charles Raymond (Buck), an uncle, several nieces and nephews, his “other” kids, Matt, Sandy, Richard and Kate, and Vixen, his beloved pet.
