The Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Bates County EMS and Bates County Sheriff's Department responded to a 1 vehicle dump truck accident this afternoon around 1:45pm outside of Butler. The accident was on 52 West 1 mile West of I-49. The accident occured with the 1998 Peterbilt driven by Rodney L. Deforest 59, of Louisburg Kansas Was travelling West Bound on Missouri 52 Highway and travelled off the right side of the roadway and returned to the roadway and slide out of control. The truck then overturned and came to rest in the ditch on the Southside of the roadway. Mr. Deforest was taken by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries. The vehicle was totalled and towed from the scene by Gilkey's Tow Of Rich Hill Missouri.
