RICH HILL MULTI-PURPOSE SAFE ROOM

Proposed Rich Hill Safe Room

The Rich Hill School Multi-Purpose Completion Committee has a challenge to raise funds to complete the construction of a tornado safe room and multi-purpose facility for the Rich Hill R-IV School District. The District has received a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, a bond approved by voters of the district, and school reserve funds to help construct a dome-shaped tornado safe room. However, additional funds are needed to complete the room as a multipurpose facility that can be used and enjoyed by the approximately 400 students in the Rich Hills Schools.

The Committee feels that completing the safe room as a multipurpose facility will help build pride among Rich Hill’s youth and community. The Committee feels the project will translate into increased participation and enthusiasm for school and school-related activities.

The Multi-Purpose Completion Committee along with the Rich Hill community,  is dedicated to the process of making this happen, but they need the public’s support. The goal of the Committee for this project is one million dollars. The committee is reaching out to businesses, alumni, community members and individuals to meet this goal. The Rich Hill community is clearly excited and eager to see this project succeed.

Recognition Levels for donations have been set as follows: Platinum- above - $50,000; Gold - $25,000 to 49,999; Silver - $10,000 to 24,999; Bronze - $500.00 to $9,999. A December 1,2013 date is set for pledges or donations to be submitted for the project. The anticipated project completion date is November 2014.

A website has been developed to provide information and to give updates on the fundraising progress. The website is www.RichHillSafeRoom.com.
