Cass County Sheriff's Office Press Release: Arrested Made In Stillborn Baby Found In Bucket

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 28-year-old Pleasant Hill man for allegedly abandoning the body of a stillborn baby in bucket of concrete earlier this month. Matthew Scroggs was charged with abandonment of a corpse and for tampering with a motor vehicle. After a search for drugs and stolen property last month led to authorities discovering the body of a newborn encased in a tub of concrete. The tub was found in a couple's garage in Cass County.
