The weather could get a bit messy later on this evening and through the overnight hours, and could lead to slick roads Friday morning! We'll have rain through the daytime hours today, but cold air will plunge southward this evening and overnight. Light Rain may transition to a mixture of very light snow, freezing drizzle, or perhaps sleet.
Accumulations are expected to remain rather light with a dusting to half inch of snow possible (mainly in northern Missouri, Kansas and southern Iowa and Nebraska), and potential for a very light bit of icing on elevated surfaces. You'll want to watch out for slick roads during the Friday morning commute if wet roads begin to freeze, especially those bridges and overpasses.
