SEDALIA—State Fair Community College vocal music students Zach Craft, Butler, and Tanner Wiley, Sedalia, will participate Nov. 15-16 in the Central Division Festival of the National Association of Teachers of Singing at Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill.
Collegiate singers from Illinois, Missouri and Iowa will compete in categories from college freshman through graduate student.
Performers will present eight-minute programs of at least three selections before a panel of voice teachers who will give written comment and rankings. Top performers will move on to semi-final and final rounds. The top three performers in each category will qualify for the national competition to be held in the spring.
Craft and Wiley are voice students of Ron Sayer, Music Arts program coordinator and director of choirs at SFCC. Sayer will judge one of the competition categories in which no SFCC students are competing.
