Butler city wide clean up coming in May

Warmer weather means it's time for Spring cleaning- and that's exactly what will happen in Butler next month.  In cooperation with Bates County Disposal, the Butler city wide clean up is set to happen for residences north of Fort Scott street the week of May 9th through the 13th, while those south of Fort Scott will be picked up the week of May 16th through 20th.

Items accepted will be old furniture, paint, batteries, appliances and basic junk- make sure items are separate from your regular weekly trash. Tires and building materials such as wood scraps, shingles and plywood will not be accepted. Limit is one pickup load per household. If you have more than one pickup load, contact Bates County Disposal at 600-679-5654 to make arrangements for the excess items.

Brush and limbs will be accepted, along with leaves in City of Butler leaf bags. These items will be picked up by the city of Butler crews separately from the junk.

Have your items ready at curbside by 6:00 a.m. on Monday of your pick up week. Residents are reminded not to set out trash more than one week in advance or you may be subject to code enforcement action.

The annual city wide clean up is a free service offered to residents only.
