“It was a pleasure having the senator at the conference,” stated Deborah Orr, Superintendent of the Warrensburg R-VI School District, who introduced Sen. Pearce. “We are very appreciative of all of his hard work and dedication. His support for education across the state is well known.”
“Sen. Pearce was an obvious candidate for this award,” said Julie Blaine, Warrensburg Conference Chair of the MSDC, who nominated Sen. Pearce for the award. “He has continually supported Missouri public schools, and it is great to have such a strong supporter of education who also looks out for teachers.”
“I am honored to be recognized as a Friend of Education,” said Sen. Pearce. “I will continue to work closely with our state’s teachers to improve education throughout Missouri.”
MSDC advocates for high quality professional development by improving teachers' and principals' effectiveness in raising student achievement. Last year’s recipient of the MSDC’s Friends of Education award went to Rep. Joe Aull, D- Marshall.
