Two mile jump will raise money to help stop child abuse...

The Children’s Center of Southwest Missouri together with the Skydive Kanas City announce the kick-off to the 3rd Annual Take an Extreme Step to Stop Child Abuse event.

This unique fundraiser will send 3 Butler men to the skies to jump for the cause. Jim Scott, Brad Powell and Larry Beckham along with the Prosecuting Attorney of Vernon County, will join jumpers at the Butler Airport for a skydive for the Child Abuse Center.

Each of these 3 men is now raising pledges for the jump… with the proceeds donated to the Children’s Center. In its first 2 years, the "Extreme Step to Stop Child Abuse" fundraiser has been able to donate over twenty thousand dollars in support of the fight to stop child abuse in our communities. These funds are used to help support the ever growing needs of each community’s children’s advocacy center in their efforts to stop child abuse, yet provide victims with the services they need during a tragic time in their lives.

By raising money and taking the extreme step from over two miles above the earth, you pledge dollars will be supporting the programs and services offered by the sunflower House and The children’s Center in Southwest Missouri. All donations no matter how big or small make a difference in the lives of the children that need these services.

Jim Scott, Brad Powell and Larry Beckham are asking for your donations and pledges as the Skydive for the cause. To donate www.extremestep.com and select the jumper of your choice to donate. The date and time of jump are yet to be announced…. For now we know it will be September 22nd or 23rd at the Butler Airport. Exact time and date to be announced at a later date.
