Go Red for Heart Disease!

Bates County Memorial Hospital staff and auxiliary proudly displayed their red on GO RED Friday, February 01, 2013. Many employees will wear red every Friday in February to help bring awareness to the seriousness of Heart Disease. Educational information will be available at the auxiliary desk throughout the month.

Heart disease and stroke are the No. 1 and No. 3 killers of women. They are two of the many cardiovascular diseases that kill nearly 500,000 women each year. That’s more than the next seven causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. Fortunately, you can do a lot to prevent these killers, according to the American Heart Association. Go Red For Women helps women discover unique lifesaving power by learning about heart disease and stroke and taking positive action to reduce your risk of both. Red is the American Heart Association’s color for women and heart disease. Make it your color, too. To learn more, visit their website at www.americanheart.org.
