Bates County is under a flash flood watch until Tuesday morning. Rainfall could be 1 to 3 inches. Excessive rain during thunderstorms might have excessive runoff leading to rapid rises in storm drains and creeks. STAY ALERT! Don't let children play in areas that could rapidly flood. Don't drive through water flooding over the roadway. TURN AROUND! Even a few inches can cause a car to float.
