Bates County – The Bates County Route B bridge over Spring Branch east of Rich Hill will be CLOSED for up to 65 days beginning the week of May 30, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Contractor crews will replace the old bridge with a new structure, which will be four feet wider than the current bridge.
Drivers can get to entrances on either side of the bridge. However, they will not be able to cross the bridge during construction. Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the bridge closing.
Drivers are urged to find alternate routes during the bridge project. No signed detour is planned. Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.
Project background:
· Prime Contractor: Boone Construction Co., Columbia
· Completion Date: September 1, 2017 (however, the contractor expects to be finished well before that date)
· Total project cost: $800,000
