In the last couple of weeks there has been several residents of Bates County who have received phone scam calls. Normally it will be a male with a accent and the caller ID will say private call.
The male caller says that your Microsoft program sent messages that had trouble and errors to him, and they needed you to turn your computer on so it could be fixed.
After refusing the male hangs up the phone quickly. Everyone beware this is a scam and as always never give your personal information out online or on the phone. This has been reported to the Bates County Sheriff's Department.
