Today is going to be windy, and southerly winds could gust as high as 45 to 50 mph across areas near and west of I-35 where a wind advisory is in effect. These gusty winds will also bring a very high fire danger to much of the region this afternoon and a red flag warning is in effect for most areas. Use extreme caution as even a simple cigarette butt thrown out a car window can ignite a wildfire t...oday which will be very difficult to control with the winds!
By tomorrow we are expecting thunderstorms to develop near or just west of I-35 during the mid afternoon and spread east toward Mid Missouri through the evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe with large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes.
