On Friday the Butler Bears Track Team traveled to Holden on a beautiful night with great competition. Schools that consisted of Grain Valley, St. Pius X, O'Hara, and Smith-Cotton just to name a couple of the bigger schools. The boys showed up and took advantage of the perfect weather and placed 3rd overall out of 11 schools!! Here are the top 8 finishers who helped earn that 3rd place finish:
200M Dash - Austin Castaneda - 2nd place
Kyle Todd - 6th place
400M Dash - Austin Castaneda - 2nd place
Kyle Todd - 4th place
1600M Run - Tayje VanVoorst - 8th place
3200M Run - Tayje VanVoorst - 5th place
300M Hurdles - Devan Loveall - 3rd place
Brett Behringer - 6th place
4x100M Relay - Kaleb Kauffman, Tanner Diehl, Brett Miller, Devan Loveall - 3rd place
4x200M Relay - Brett Miller, Kaleb Kauffman, Kyle Todd, Austin Castaneda - 1st place with a time of 1:34.89
4x400M Relay - Devan Loveall, Brett Miller, Kyle Todd, Austin Castaneda - 2nd place ( our fastest time ever 3:33.8)
High Jump - Briar Tiller - 8th place
Pole Vault - Brett Behringer - 3rd place
Shay Wilson - 4th place
Long Jump - Kaleb Kauffman - 5th place
Triple Jump - Kaleb Kauffman - 6th place
Again I am super proud of all of our track athletes. Even when we know the competition is higher we use it to make ourselves better. Almost every single kid got their season best or their personal best on Friday. We are peaking at the right time! The Butler track team travels to Sherwood tonight for the XRC championship. If you see any of our kids, wish them luck on this beautiful day.
