Billy B. Hunter, 85, Peculiar, Mo died Saturday, May 3, 2014 at his home. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville with visitation from 1:00- 2:00. Burial will be in Peculiar, Cemetery, Peculiar, Mo. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
Billy was born January 16, 1929 in Cedar County, Mo to Bert K. and Jessie May (Abbott) Hunter. He graduated high school in Bear Creek, MO. On October 24, 1954 he was united in marriage to Wanda R. Brown. He retired from Leeds Chevrolet Assembly Plant. He was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Franklin and Dale Hunter and two sister, Frances Hunter and Ruth Coleman. He is survived by his wife, Wanda, of the home; one son, Gary Hunter of Peculiar, Mo; one daughter, Glenda Hill and her husband, Bob, of Garden City, Mo; two brothers, Joe Hunter and his wife, Bettie, of Bear Creek, Mo and Max Hunter and his wife, Gaila, of Stockton, Mo; one sister, Helen Emshwiller of Fairplay, Mo; two grandchildren, Amanda Paul and her husband Clint and Ethan Hill; one great-granddaughter, Emersyn; brother-in-law, Wayne Coleman and sister-in-law Beverly Hunter.
