Vera Maxine Bell, 95, of Harrisonville, Mo died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Golden Years Care Center, Harrisonville, Mo. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at the United Methodist Church, Harrisonville with burial in Strasburg Cemetery, Strasburg, Mo. Visitation 6:00 -8:00 p.m. Friday at the Atkinson Funeral Home, Harrisonville. The family suggests memorials to Serenity Hospice, 1626 Elm St, Harrisonville, Mo 64701.

Vera was born April 11, 1919 in Garden City, Mo to Melvin Clyde and Kay Catherine (Stoll) Yoder. She graduated from Garden City High School. On August 23, 1941 she was married to Omer A. Bell in Kansas City, Mo. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville and was a life-long resident of Cass County.

Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Omer in 2000, one son, Richard L. Bell, her parents, two brothers, Cleo Yoder and Robert Yoder and three sisters, Ilene Hamm, Phyllis Beckman and Nadine Cameron. She is survived by one son, Ronald O. Bell and his wife, Kay, of Claremore, Ok; brother, Leon Yoder of Raytown, Mo; daughter-in-law, Barbara Bell of Peculiar, Mo; four grandchildren, Steve Bell, Amy Brown, Col. Brian Bell and Brett Bell; and four great-grandchildren, Logan Bell, Brooke Bell, Matthew Brown and Nicholas Br
