(Butler, Missouri)— Bates County 4-H leaders and members were honored at the annual Recognition Celebration held Sunday afternoon, November 2, 2014, at the First Christian Church in Butler. Alan J. Mundey, 4-H Youth Specialist, presided over the event, the focus of which was the presentation of awards for 4-H achievement this past year.
In recognition of National 4-H Week, Reba Colin announced that window display awards were given to the Summit Go Getters 4-H club for first place and the County Line 4-H club for second place. Alan Mundey recognized those leaders with milestone years. Cathy Slattery received her 15 year pin. Melody Wikoff was honored for her 20 years of volunteer service and Ron Nissen received his 30 year pin. Brenda Doody, Bates County Extension Office Manager, recognized all club leaders and presented pins to those for specific number of years they had served as volunteer leaders. Ella Armentrout presented Community Service Awards to Altona 4-H (gold seal), County Line 4-H (gold seal), Hudson Hustlers 4-H (silver seal) and Summit Go Getters 4-H (silver seal). Myra Colin honored Lucille Mundey with the Friend of 4-H award for her many contributions to Bates County 4-H.
