Rich Hill man sentenced in killing conspiracy

Mike Maushake, 53, was sentenced to four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for two counts of attempted tampering with a judicial officer and one count of attempted tampering with a witness. Maushake pled guilty to all three counts on October 25th in the Bates County Circuit Court.

Maushake, a prior felony offender, sought a firearm to kill Bates County Associate Judge Debra Hopkins, Bates County Prosecutor Hugh Jenkins, and Rich Hill Marshal Clinton Leer. The Judge, Prosecuting Attorney, and Marshal were involved in a case against Maushake’s wife for felony drug possession.
