The Altona 4-H met on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Altona Community Building. President, Catie Welliver called the meeting to order at 6:30 and led us in the pledges to the American and 4-H flags. Secretary, Jennifer Willerton called roll with 30 members present and 15 adults. Jennifer also read the minutes to the last meeting. Cameron Tallman gave the treasurer’s report. We have lots of project meetings beginning and reports and announcements were made for Sheep, Archery, Horse and Photography.

Old business included discussion of mowing the grounds around the Community Building. It was decided that Trenton Tallman and Colt Cumpton would mow. They will set their schedule and alternate weeks.

New business included Todd Frankenfield talked about deadlines for livestock DNA for the Ozark Empire Fair and State Fair. We discussed our upcoming annual fundraiser: selling homemade cobbler and ice cream at the WMAT &MA show June 22, 23, and 24th. Each family is responsible for making 2 pie crust fruit cobblers and 2 gallons of ice cream. Sign-up sheets will be passed around at the May meeting. Jenny Oates will be doing educational gardening workshops at the antique tractor park for the month of June for kids. She will have three different gardens. Contact Jenny to join in. We have decided to have a float in the Bates County Fair parade. This is their 40th anniversary. Catie Welliver will head up the float committee, the Bolling family will provide a truck and trailer. The theme is 40 Years Long, 40 Years Strong.

Meeting adjourned.
