“It is wonderful to be honored with the Friend of Education Award,” said Sen. Pearce. “The education of Missouri’s students is one of my top priorities, and I will continue to support and protect it.”
School officials appreciated Sen. Pearce’s visit and were pleased to present him with the award for his efforts.
“Afterward, the senator read parts of his diary from 2004 (the year those students were born),” stated Mary Castro, School Community Relations Director of Warrensburg School District. “It was a great afternoon, and the students learned a lot and had fun with Sen. Pearce.”
This award is presented annually to recognize non-educators, one from each of the eight MASA Districts, for their contribution to education, locally or statewide. MASA recognized Sen. Pearce as a legislator with a proven record for supporting education. He was nominated for the award by school administrators in the West Central MASA District.
