Plenty of Grand Champion ribbons for local exhibits at Ozark Empire Fair

According to Alan J. Mundey, 4-H Youth Specialist, Bates County 4-H’ers once again displayed first-rate exhibits at the Ozark Empire Fair, held July 27-August 4, in Springfield. With a total of 92 exhibits taken to the fair, the local 4-H’ers brought home 13 Grand Champion ribbons and 6 Reserve Champion ribbons. The Grand Champion recipients are as follows: Geoffrey Algiere (hummingbird sketch), Ella Armentrout (puppet script), Rachel Brown (ice breakers), Shaylee Doody (campfire display), Kirstyn Eckhoff (binder—rules, maintenance, etc.), Taylor Fischer (horse judging notebook), Skyla Geritz (painted jewelry box), Allison Jenkins, divisional grand (ceiling panel), Samantha Long (fudge), John Scrivener (workout routine notebook), Summer Simonin (Santa painting), Jordanne Steuck (kitty krunch), and Triston Trumbore (BB target stand). Reserve Champions include Blake Doody (folding .22 target), Emma McIntire (herdsman notebook), Brooklyn Popplewell (baby blanket), Summer Simonin (swan painting), Nash Smalley (cat photo), and Triston Trumbore (ground quiver). In addition, Bates County 4-H’ers were awarded 76 blue ribbons and 16 red ribbons.
