Funeral services for Jay "Chris" Smith will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Rev. Richard Pierson officiating. There is no visitation. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery. Contributions to Charity of Choice.
Jay Christopher “Chris” Smith, age 63 of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born February 13, 1950 to Ralph and Joan John Smith in Kansas City.
Jay is survived by his wife, Dixie Smith of Harrisonville, Missouri; two sons, Matt Smith and wife Julie of Harrisonville, Missouri and Morgan Smith of Kansas City, Missouri; his father, Ralph Smith of Butler, Missouri; two sisters, Jan Barrett and husband John of Montgomery, Texas and Paige Anderson and husband Dean of Jenks, Oklahoma; and two grandchildren, Lucas and Lana. He was preceded in death by his mother.
