St. Clair County Route H/Osage River Bridge To CLOSE May 28 for Rehabilitation Project

St. Clair County -- St. Clair County Route H at the Osage River south of Taberville is scheduled to close Tuesday, May 28, to allow crews to make major repairs to the bridge, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The Osage River bridge could remain closed until mid-August.

Contractor crews will remove the bridge deck (the surface that vehicles use to drive cross the bridge) and replace it.

During the work, drivers will have to find alternate routes around the closing. No official detour will be signed.

The St. Clair County Route H bridge is one of five bridges that have received major repairs in a project that began during the summer of 2012.

Here are the four other bridges that were completed in 2012:

* St. Clair County Route E/Truman Lake bridge in Roscoe

* St. Clair County Route TT/Weaubleau Creek near Vista

* St. Clair County Route O/Little Clear Creek near Tiffin

* Cedar County Route J/Sac River north of Stockton

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.

The prime contractor is APAC-Missouri of Columbia.

Construction cost: $3.6 (total cost of contract which includes the cost for the four other bridges completed in 2012).

Completion: Mid-August 2013.
