UCM Indoor Track Meet Results‏

Yesterday the Butler Bears Track & Field season officially started. We traveled to the UCM Indoor Track meet in Warrensburg. With a good quality of kids returning and good kids just coming into the team, there are a lot of high expectations. The UCM indoor track is 220 yards instead of a normal outdoor 400 meter track. None of our kids have ever ran on anything like that before. There were 27 schools attending this meet. Here are the following results from yesterday.

Long Jump- Kaleb Kauffman - 7th place

400 Meter Dash- Austin Castandea- 5th place
                        Kyle Todd- 6th place

4x200 relay- Geoffrey Algiere- 4th place
                    Brett Miller
                    Kaleb Kauffman
                    Dylan Morris

4x400 relay- Kyle Todd- 1st place
                   Devan Loveall
                    Brett Miller
                    Austin Castandea

I am super proud of our kids. There was a lot of great competition and our athletes did not back down. Just an example of the amount of athletes entered an 1 event: In the boys 4x400 there were 8 heats with 22 teams. Everyone is extremely excited about the rest of the year.

This will be the first 1 in 12 years. Come on out and support the Bears.

The athletes did a great job competing yesterday at the Mule Relays. There were 22 teams so competition was high and we were able to see a lot of schools that we normally don’t get to compete against.  All in all it was a great start to our season!

The top 6 place finishers earned medals.

High Jump- Amy Miller- 4th place
55m Hurdles- Kiersten Morris- 2nd place
55m Dash- Kayla Morris- 2nd place
4x220 yard relay- 2nd place
                                Kayla Morris
                                Mady Gepford
                                Amy Miller
                                Kiersten Morris

Our next track meet will be TOMORROW!!! Thursday, March 27th at 2:30!! We would love to have you out there showing your support! These kids work extremely hard and they are all very excited to be able to compete in their hometown on our very own track!! It will be exciting!!
