A rural Adrian couple has been arraigned in Bates County associate circuit court on felony charges alleging the distribution/delivery/manufacture of a controlled substance. 60-year-old Gene Halbin and his 58-year-old wife, Dolores were charged after law enforcement officers raided their rural home and seized marijuana plants allegedly cultivated by Gene to help him battle glaucoma.
Not guilty pleas were entered on behalf of both and the Halbins are scheduled for pre-trial conferences at Butler at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, April 9.
