Funeral services for Howard Lee McElwain of Garden City, Missouri formerly of Ballard, Missouri will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Rusty Miller officiating. Visitation, 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, July 18 at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial, Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler. Contributions may be made to the family.

Howard Lee McElwain, age 67 of Garden City, Missouri formerly of Ballard, Missouri died July 15, 2011 at his home in Garden City. He was born February 5, 1944 to Ellis Leroy and Virginia Fern Bitner McElwain in Bates County, Missouri.


Howard is survived by his wife, Sharon McElwain of Garden City, Missouri; two sons, Hank Hubbard and wife Debbie of Adrian, Missouri and Morrie McElwain and wife Terri of Garden City Missouri; two daughters, Tina Hansen and husband Mike of Grain Valley, Missouri and Amanda Nickerson and husband Clint of Harrisonville, Missouri; three brothers, Glen McElwain and wife Linda of Butler, Missouri Vern McElwain and wife Barbara of Adrian, Missouri and Bill McElwain and wife Sharon of Butler, Missouri; two sisters, Jean Chistopher and husband Joe of Butler, Missouri and Connie Eidson and husband Danny of Urich, Missouri;12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren and 6 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
