Brad Vermaas appointed Deputy Director of BC Emergency Management

 Deputy Director of the Bates
County Office of Emergency
Management, Brad Vermaas
The following is a letter penned by Brad Vermaas regarding his new position as Deputy Director of the Bates County Office of Emergency Management. Brad's skills and solid work ethics will make him a great asset to the organization:

Effective Feb. 16th, I was appointed as Deputy Director of the Bates County Office of Emergency Management, replacing Bill Dellipaoli. Bill stepped down but is remaining a vital part of the organization as Radio Communications Officer.

I will be working closely with Director Ron Nissen to continue establishing and maintaining cooperation between Emergency agencies throughout Bates County.  Bates County Emergency agencies continue to maintain a high level of readiness to respond in the event of a public safety situation. Cooperation is vital when assets from other localities, State and Federal organizations is required.

The rapid increase of social media and its ability to keep users informed has reached the Bates County EMA. We will be using social media to update Bates County Citizens on Events such as the upcoming Tornado Drill or other safety programs. We will also pass along weather advisories or significant events that may directly affect public safety.
