The honorary ribbon cutting was held this morning to officially open the new Butler R-V track located at Nursery street and Business 71. Everyone got a chance to check out the rubberized surface material, which is preferred for long distance running and overall safety. Upcoming work at the facility includes construction of the concession stand, locker rooms, bleachers and the parking lot north of the track where the former drive in theatre was located.
It is hoped the track will be complete for R-V hosted meets to be held as early as next year. In the meantime, it is open for anyone who would like to use it for walking, running and other exercises.
